If you miss Barkley the dog or want to go down memory lane of great classic sesame street songs you remember and that certain episode that taught you how to count to 20 (by The Count of course!) The first seasons of Sesame Street are now available on DVD!

Sesame Street is still on the air for our children to watch but it's just not the same. Elmo dominates the program and many of those unique furry characters are no longer there or don't get as much airtime. It's also fun to share with your children and relieve old memories of how you felt at certain times of the show.

The guest stars are also fun to see, a young Bill Cosby, James Earl Jones, Johnny Cash, Jesse Jackson, just to name a few. The first box set includes seasons one though five, the original pilot and bonus sketches and songs.

The best memory I have from Sesame Street was getting wows when I would count to ten in Spanish. Back in 1986 that was rare and amazing for adults to hear because there weren't as many children's programs then that incorporated Spanish. While watching this, deep memories that you had as a child begin floating back. During one episode, I could actually recall what I was wearing!

The original music is also great from the beginning full song, (It has been shortened now.) to classics like Rubber Ducky (which top billboard charts in 1970.) and Live on the Moon. Sesame Street has won 11 Grammy awards for their children music.

In case you just flew, off of Jupiter and don't know what Sesame Street is, it's an excellent and diverse children's show that's been on the air for over 30 years. The genius puppeteer Jim Henson created many of the puppet characters on the show. It teaches children how to count, shapes, colors, manners, and tolerance of all people whether they are disabled, White, Black, Brown or Blue! Sesame Street was the first show to incorporate real children and unscripted conversations with puppets. It is the longest running US television show in history. Sesame Street also has a record number of 109 Emmys!
