Logitech PlayStation 3 MediaBoard
While the two million plus PlayStation 3 owners still awaiting Sony's release of a Bluetooth keyboard, Logitech has taken it upon themselves to put out a media/keyboard for Sony's system. Luckily, the keyboard
is completely compatible with the PlayStation 3 and Logitech has complete backing by Sony. For owners who have been dealing with the cell-phone like interface when web browsing and chatting, this is the perfect addition to use along with their PS3. However, a noticeable price tag brings up the inevitable question of whether or not the keyboard is worth purchasing when Bluetooth peripheral by Sony is eventually going to be released.
For starters, the asking price of the MediaBoard is a pretty hefty $80, a price that most gaming keyboards reach for PC gaming. With the PlayStation 3 already having cost you a pretty penny are you sure you want to drop nearly another hundred on a keyboard or would you prefer to pick up another game? It's a question that's answered easier than you probably thought.
If you've found yourself stricken with annoyance from the amount of finger and patience Olympics you have to go through when typing out a message then the odds are that this would do you some good. For those who just want to play their games and be done with it, then you shouldn't even begin to bother, you're better off going out and picking up another game. However, for the other people, this is your God send. A built in touch pad eliminates the need to buy a mouse and can make everything that much easier.
It works. There's nothing inherently wrong with the keyboard and through some mild usage nothing ever conked out or suddenly decided to sputter and die. It was a simple matter of taking twenty seconds to set everything up and turn it on before it was being put to good use.
On the aesthetic side, it looks like it would go better with the silver slim PlayStation 2 more so than the seductive black of the PlayStation 3. With that considered it's no big foul up and most will find themselves not really caring about how it looks as long as it works well, which it does.
