Guys: Places to Meet Smart Women

Sometimes it seems like a travesty of justice. There are so many beautiful, intelligent, eligible women out there looking for a nice guy like you, yet you can't seem to cross paths with them. You know these smart women exist, but where are they? As a woman, I can give you a few hints as to where you may be able to find them.

The Bookstore
If you are at all intellectual, or just know how to read, head to your local Barnes and Noble, Borders, or independent book store. Here you will find women browsing the aisles, sitting on the floor in front of their favorite section, or pouring over a stack of books in the café. Talking to them won't be awkward, because after all, you have something in common: a brain. As a bonus, you can tell a little something about them by what they are reading. French feminist literature? Strong but sensual. Cookbooks? Nurturing. Self-help? You decide.

Universities
Even if you are way past college age, you can expand your horizons by signing up to take a class at your local university. I'm not suggesting that middle-aged men try to pick up college girls. What I am suggesting is that you check out a night school class aimed at people who have been out in the real world for a while. Perhaps an English literature class would be fun, or even something in your field. Hint: If you are looking to meet women, skip the mechanics shop. I'm not saying there are no female mechanics, but you will have better odds in a more female friendly environment. How about real estate?

Political or Activist Meet-ups
What better way to find a kindred spirit than to join a meet-up? There are meet-ups for political campaigns, animal rights, environmental issues, and race issues. Pick a cause you care about, and find a meet-up online. Then you can go check out the chicks who agree with you. The best part about this is that if you are shy, you don't have to make a move at the first meeting. You can simply befriend the girl of your dreams, and look forward to seeing her again at the next meet-up. Eventually you will be saving the giant sea turtles together.
