If you want to be able to park your car anywhere and not worry of where it will end up five minutes later, installing a car alarm should be your priority. Car alarms keep your car safe and let you rest easy at night, saving you from anguish and frustration. The only question is, how do
you install a car alarm? After all, proper installation is essential to ensure that it will work properly. If you've never installed a car alarm before, here's how to do it:

Have the right materials.
You can't just install a car alarm using your bare hands - you also need tools like scissors, drill, screws, screw bit, solder gun, solder material, double-sided tape and of course, a voltmeter.

Use information.
Every car alarm you purchase comes with an installation manual. It's included for a purpose, so use it as a reference. There are step-by-step installation procedures you can follow and reference diagrams that will help you locate parts. Find out the specific colors of the wirings you need to use, where to use them and what their polarities are. Determine if you need resistors or diodes and if your vehicle will need relays. Keep the diagram at your side during the installation.

Check your vehicle.
The successful installation of a car alarm system depends on how well some parts of your car function. If the rear passenger car door does not trigger the dome light, for example, or if the opening does not register on the dash indicator, the alarm will ignore that particular door.

Take the siren and mount it under a hood, preferably on a solid surface. The horn should face the ground. Drill a hole through the car's firewall and feed the siren wire into it. It should appear in the passenger compartment.

Next, attach the power wire to your car's battery and feed the power wiring through the firewall into the passenger area. Install a fuse onto the power wire. Then mount the alarm's shock sensor using the installation manual for reference.
