Summer is one of the most common times for people to become dehydrated. A lot of the time, people become dehydrated without even realizing it. Here, we will take a much closer look at what dehydration is, as well as what the main indicators of it are and what you can do in order to prevent dehydration from happening to you this summer. Read on to learn more about dehydration. What is Dehydration?
Although you may have heard of dehydration, there are still some of us who are not sure exactly what it is. When a person becomes dehydrated, they do not have an adequate amount of water in their bodies in order for their systems to function the way that they regularly would. There are different levels of dehydration. The more severely you are dehydrated, the more your body will not want to function the way that it normally would.
What are the Signs of Dehydration?
There are some signs of dehydration which may not be even noticeable within the body, especially if they are something that you experience often. However, it is very important to pay attention to what your body is telling you. The two most common signs of dehydration are dizziness and migraine headaches. Although one of the more common signs of dehydration is dark yellow urine, since the urine is more concentrated-looking when you have not drank very much water. Keep in mind, however, that this is often very common when you first wake up in the morning, as you have not had anything to drink all night. You may also notice that you are unable to urinate when you are dehydrated. Some of the other signs of dehydration include a dry mouth, weakness, nausea and vomiting.
Who is Dehydration the Most Common Among?
Dehydration is often very common among the elderly, mainly due to the fact that certain medications which they are on may cause them to become dehydrated. It is also very common among people who do not drink very much water, but who instead drink sugary drinks such as soda and juice. Although dehydration may not be more common among young children, it is often hard to detect their dehydration if they do not speak up, so it may lead to more serious cases of dehydration.

It is important to make sure that your glass is always at least half full, rather than empty!
