And a Few Keywords to Get You Started Monetizing Your Articles for AC

The challenge of the writer who has decided to work at home is to come up with new, fresh ideas. I challenged myself today to write five Helium articles and four Associated Content articles. Fortunately I had an idea list on notepad, with a shortcut to it on my menu, or that goal would have been qui
te a stretch...and it still was, considering I only can really write on what I am inspired to write about. I'm still working out the best ways to make income with articles and....

Some of the things that have helped me to generate ideas are:

1) Reading Helium articles, and seeing that I could contribute something on the same topic. And writing on it right then and there actually saves time because I don't have to decide what category to put my article in. All I have to do above the article I am reading is to click "Write Now". Then my inspiration there gets to be so long I figure I will take it to Associated Content instead and make more for it. If I come back and still submit to Helium I might quickly write something that is different but based on my first ideas and inspirations but not as long.

2) Keeping a notepad with me at all time and when an idea hits me as fast as lightning, I write it down. An idea hit me in the store today while I was on my way to purchase two car parts. Boom! Write it down, in case.

3) Talking with my neighbors in the building helps to create more ideas.

4) I note what is popular on magazines, what is popular on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

5) I keep a clippings file of things that resonate to my personal energy. It's easier for me to write about things I am interested in and know about already than to research an article to write.

6) I do keyword surfing at Triond.com, when I read and write articles there, for their keywords for Kontera advertising, to see what topics are popular and be used with advertising. To do this, I read one article there, write down the keywords, click on the title to another article on the right hand column, write down its keywords, and keep doing that. I end up reading topics I would not have sought out. This broadens my perspectives and brings me to topics I would not have thought of otherwise.

  • If you consider your writing a job that will pay the bills, you must have a plan

I tend to have more success with off popular topics. Keeping them fairly short and making it like a story from beginning to end. Thanks for sharing more tips for helping me keep the juices flowing.
