Resort areas are lucrative locations for summer employment, and Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri is a prime example. The lake crosses three counties in the heart of the state. Several municipalities are on or near the lake such as Osage Beach, Lake Ozark, Linn Creek, Camdenton, Climax Springs, Sunrise B
each, Laurie, Greenview, Bagnell, Roach and Gravois Mills.

The region has experienced massive growth for several years. Numerous construction projects are underway. Jobs on construction crews here are not usually advertised. This type of employment is best secured through direct contact with the management of the builder businesses. Suppliers to the construction trade do advertise job openings and are currently seeking staff at both the Lowe's and Home Depot in Osage Beach, Missouri.

Would you prefer to work on a great tan? Lakeside bars, restaurants and marinas have a unique job just for you! A dock workers, sometimes called dock bunnies or dock jocks, labor on the dock at these establishments assisting boaters with docking or fueling. These positions generally pay above the minimum wage plus tips. The usual uniform for these workers is a swimming suit or tank shirt and shorts. Again, these jobs are not usually advertised, contact the establishment directly.

Restaurants and bars in the region do use classified ads plus signs at the business. Even if there is no 'help wanted' sign it's a good idea to ask if the business is hiring. Nearly all area food service establishments have openings of every kind. So, whether you would like to work in the kitchen, bartend or wait tables, there is a job at the lake for you. The variety of enterprises means you can find a position to match your taste.

Is retail more your style? While there are stores to meet the basic needs at the small towns around the lake, the concentration is at Osage Beach and Lake Ozark. Some of the companies are national retail chains including Target, Wal-Mart, Marshalls, Petco and Pier One. Concentrations of stores are found at the Osage Beach Premium Outlets and at the Bagnell Dam Strip in Lake Ozark.
