Christina Ricci Teams Up with 'Speed Racer'

Warner Bros Pictures has signed up actress Christina Ricci to star in their new film project 'Speed Racer'

The exciting announcement was made today by the Warner Bros, President of Production, Jeff Robinov.

'Speed Racer' will be a fun action adventure that will also star Emile Hirsch as Speed. Christina Ricci has been signed up to play the role of Trixie. Trixie's role in the film will be the supportive, brave and faithful girlfriend of a racer named Speed.

When speaking about why Warner Bros choose Christina Ricci, Robinov said, "Christina Ricci is a young actress of extraordinary range, who has become a favourite of both critics and audiences in a wide variety of movies, from mainstream features to acclaimed indie films. She is an amazing talent and we think she going to do a great job with the role of Trixie."

The latest role for Christina Ricci comes after her recent successes in a film called 'Black Snake Moan', and a nominated guest appearance on the popular TV show, 'Grey's Anatomy'. Ricci's next film to be released is a fantasy style drama called, 'Penelope'.

To date Christina Ricci's quality performances have been well rewarded. She has already received nominations for a Golden Globe and the Independent Spirit Award. Ricci's performance in the film 'The Opposite of Sex' earned her a National Board of Review Award.

Some of Christinia Ricci's most popular and successful films include 'Sleepy Hallow', where she stared opposite Johnny Depp, 'Monster' where she stared opposite Charlize Theron and her role in 'The Ice Storm'. One of Christina Ricci's earliest successful films was the role of Wednesday in 'The Adam's Family'.

Other well-known names that are set to play roles in 'Speed Racer' are Susan Saradon and John Goodman. The Wachowski brothers, making this their first time working together on a film other than the 'Matrix', will direct the film.
