How much would you pay if I told you that there was a product that could treat diarrhea, get rid of your migraines, give your more energy-- and possibly cure cancer? Does $35 sound like a bargain? What if I told you that this "miracle" is fruit juice, or to be more precise, mangosteen juice? For the uninitiated, a mangosteen is a tropical fruit, about the size of a small apple, with flesh that resembles that of an orange, but is said to taste like pineapple or peaches.

A quick Google search of mangosteen juice will net you a host of websites with testimonials to the miracle of this little known plant. As a juice, it has been used for centuries as a cure for dysentery. The rind of the fruit has been used as a poultice for cuts, bruises and broken bones. Newer claims tout its ability to fend off allergy attacks, viral infections, headaches, rashes and migraines. Salves made from the plant have been used to treat eczema, rosacea and acne. Perhaps the most troubling claim made by marketers of this expensive fruit juice is that it is an effective treatment for some forms of cancer.

Proponents of mangosteen juice point to its high level of xanthones-- anti-oxidants that are said to have cancer-fighting properties. What most mangosteen marketers don't mention is that many fruits and berries contain xanthones, and that most of the mangosteen's xanthones are contained in the rind and not in the juice.

According to the American Cancer Society, mangosteen juice has been shown to inhibit cancer growth in lab rats, but the study was small and has not been tested on humans. Mangosteen juice was also shown to slow the growth of bacteria and fungi, but many other fruit juices also exhibit this property. Some lab tests do show that the mangosteen may be helpful in the treatment of ance.

Takeaways
  • Mangosteen juice has been used as a fold remedy for centuries.
  • Mangosteen juice has been shown to have a mild effect on acne.
  • Mangosteen juice has not been shown to be an effective cancer treatment.
Did You Know?
The mangosteen is banned from importation to the U.S. because of fears that it may harbor the Asian Fruit Fly?

Mangosteen Gold 100% pure juice "organic certified" was introduced to me and after a few days of use I could tell my skin was healthier. I had a severe bladder control problem and after a eight months I was in complete control of my bladder again. I have grown a normal toe nail that was flaky before. My age is 60, however, you would look at me and see a 48 year old lady. I will never be without this juice and I tell all my friends about it. My aunt had no tears before use and is happier now with tears. There are more stories out there to be told so do as I and bring the knowledge forward.

I have been a faithful user of Xango, or the mangosteen fruit for about a yr. and a half now, and I feel that unless you have tried this product yourself, how can you say that regular fruits and vegetables are just as good? I have had many Great results with this product otherwise I would not continue to use it. For me, it has helped with severe migraines, joint problems and overall better health. No, I know results may vary but for me, it is well worth the money I pay each month.

i believe everything he says about the passing his stones very easily, xango juice contains the whole fruit not just the mangosteen juice of the fruit , but the rind pericarp(peel) and the fruit, so read the article above again and note how they only compare the juice of the fruit and not the whole fruit it self.

Interesting article and comments that followed. BD? Your statement is practically incoherent. You use some English works but they don't flow well and I am unable to get your meaning. In regard to mangosteen. It doesn't matter what anyone says. I will NEVER be without the stuff. A friend introduced it to me and my wife. My wife had very bad arthritis and I had mild arthritis. Long story short.. after a year we are both free of arthritis. I personally know two people who took the juice (Xango) because they had cancer. One of them went in to have a mastectomy done and the oncologist couldn't find the tumor! These are living... breathing testimonials. I understand that the FDA and its friends in big Pharma don't want mangosteen to work. I'm sorry fellas, it does and there is nothing you can do about it. Not even your new bill to control this supplement will pass the scrutiny of the American people. And hiring people write stupid articles that down plays mangosteen is j

Wow... interesting comments. I came online seeking more information because after fifty years of consuming "the normal" foods, I'd developed several health conditions that were progressively getting worse with each passing year. A co-worker introduced me to Xango, and I wouldn't even look at the information. I kept taking my 17 medications daily and tried to cope with the health challenges as best I could. After a few months I broke down and tried Xango, to be honest I expected very little. To my surprise, after a few days I noticed an improvement with my allergies. After five weeks, I no longer had any of the symptoms associated with twelve years of IBS. I refused to "sign up" for the product even though I was experiencing some very good results. I then started buying mangosteen, aloe, goji, acai juices from health food stores and other MLM companies reps to see if they worked for my conditions as well. In short, they did not. After seven months of experimentation with a host of prod

I had kidney stones for many, and I do mean many years.I have passed approx. 30 to 40 stones. No I did not count each one. I've been to a group of urologists for years and tried every thing they said and about every thing you can imagine with very little success. About 3 years ago I went in to be checked out for some stones that I could tell had developed. At that time some one suggested Xango Juice, which I tried during the week I was waiting to have a Cat scan done and deliver the results to my urologist. I only took a little ( about an once) every day and figured in reality I was just wasting my time. Ten days from when I started taking the Xango I passed the stones ( three of them which is what the Cat scan had showed). The strange things is, the stones were soft almost the consistancy of a pudding. After about a year of being on the Xango I thought maybe I didn't need it any more and quit taking it. Within two weeks kidney pain returned. When I went back on the Xango; I passed two

Are you absolutly sure of that? and can you prove it? I am just wondering because I read what you said and wonder what if it can do that for someone? I think I would be more delicate, you might be wrong at least you're as wrong as the salesman with all the claims, you just get paid to be a skeptic so who is the bigger slime? Somewhere there is a salesman keeping you working, and every person working can say the same, think about that. If I were real sick and didn't try something other than what I have been doing all my life because I read your little bit, making your living selling the dirt, then shame on me. No I have no interest in mangosteen juice or any other, but did search google for a "cure for cancer" I found the American Cancer Society lab rat thing, well, I mean 35 bucks, I'll just keep doing what I have been and save some money. Great call! What are you 26 years old this isn't beer money? Imagine the end or going trough treatment after a doctors a bad call and more treatment
