A niche-writer is anyone who writes the majority of their articles on a certain topic. If you are a niche-writer, then you have the opportunity for great exposure to the Internet that you may not have
thought about. You could become the next big thing on MySpace.

Take the time to create a site on MySpace that is dedicated to your niche of writing. If you are a sports writer, make a sports fan page. If you write about a certain cause, create a site that will get the word out.

If you are promoting articles that are on Associated Content, make sure that you place advertisements on the site for AC. This will bring extra exposure not only to your Content Producer page, but also to this site. This will expose new people on MySpace to AC that have never heard about AC ever before.

Once you have created your site on MySpace, explain on the site that you are a writer who is interested in making new friends. Explain that you are on MySpace to promote your work, and to be exposed to the work of others. That way, people will not think that you are trying to take advantage of their MySpace friendship.

Post links to your article in the blog section. After just a few minutes, you will be surprised to see how many people have already read the blogs that you posted.

The next thing that you need to do is to go on a search for friends. Go to the discussion group section, and do a keyword search for your niche. You will most likely find multiple different groups that pertain to your niche.

The first thing that you need to do in these groups is to join them. After joining, go through the membership list for the site, and pick some people to request friendships from. Make sure that you request a friend add from the moderator of the site. This will probably be the person that will be the most inclined to add you onto their MySpace page.

Once people start accepting your friend requests on MySpace, make sure that you send them a thank you posting. This will make them more inclined to search your site for information about you.

I found this article helpful and encouraging. MySpace is a foreign country that I definitely need to explore. The hermit in me cringes at the thought of asking people to become my friends.

My daughter talked me into making a MySpace account last summer... and I did it then forgot all about it. thanks for the reminder. I'll see if I can recall my password and post some links.
