Boldness to Witness for Christ in a Selfish World

Pansy Christianity

Why has America become a half-hearted, mediocre, luke-warm, so-called Christian nation? What happened to the conviction of God in this great nation? Conviction is so much more than what you believe and what you stand for... it is what is engraved in every pore and fiber of your being... so deep to the point that you would DIE for it!

Romans 1:16 says "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ for it is the power of God unto eternal salvation to everyone who believes." But are we ashamed? As a nation? As an individual? Even as a body? Are we ashamed?

People all over the world, men, woman, & young children are being stabbed, multilated, violated, beaten, bound, tied-up, burned alive and tormented all because they refuse to deny Jesus. Young children, as young as my 5 year old son, are being forced to watch the brutal leaders and rebels of their nation chop their parents heads off and carve flesh from their bone... right before their eyes!! All because they will not deny Jesus!!

Yet we sit in our "great, blessed" nation in our fancy houses and schools, in a world of comfort, convenience, and religious freedom and can not manage to thank God for our food in public for the fear that someone, a friend, even a random stranger, may laugh and think we are lame. We live in a nation where people think they are bold and radical because they wear their christian t-shirt to school.

So, I ask again... Are we ashamed? Mark 8:34-38 says it like this... "Then Jesus called the crowd to Him along with His disciples and said; 'If anyone would come after me, he must first deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his live (spiritually and eternally) must lose his life (his fleshy self). Whoever does that will save his life for all of eternity. For what good does it do to gain the whole world and all it has to offer... only to discover that he has forfeited his soul and his eternity? If anyone is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes to his Father in Glory'."
