Even though I am a relative newbie on AC myself, over the short time I have spent as a Content Producer, I have found some simple ways to increase my page view numbers. Now be sure to understand, I am not at the level to post 10,000 page views a week, but over time, these tactics will bring both you and I to that goal.

I am not a dedicated person when it comes to promoting my content. I like the idea of promoting by association a bit better and here are the three ways I manage to do that.

DIGG

Digg is an online service that will cost you nothing but a little time. Log on to www.digg.com and create an account. When you have new articles published, be the first person to digg the article. You see, the first person who digg's the article does all the work. Digg number one requires typing a small description of the articles content, choosing a category and proving the digger is human. This is a lot of work to ask of your readers. So, if you digg the article first, they will then have the option to simply click the "Digg It!" button and another digg is added to the article. The more digg's, the more people will see your work.

COMMENT

Take time everyday as a part of your work schedule to comment on the writings of other Content Producers. By making, yourself familiar to other Content Producers you will create a sort of following. According to Associated Content, around 50% of the comments are awarded with return comments. In addition, if you visit another Content Producers site enough times, they might just subscribe to your page or make you one of their favorites and that will only increase your page views.

RETURN THE FAVOR

I cannot say enough about returning the favor to other Content Producers when they comment and rate your work. If someone has taken the time to visit your article and leave you constructive criticism, whether good or not so good, click on their image and read some of their stuff. By passing on the favor, you will build friendships and partners who will inevitably push you toward your ultimate goal.

It's TRUE! Reading other people's articles and commenting really does get you noticed. I also like to subscribe to my favorite authors. I have found that they sometimes subscribe back.

Thanks for the tips. I try to visit everyone who comments my pages sites. Even if all I comment on their page is thanks! Hopefully they will review some of my articles as well. I try to hit a few of their articles if I can.

commenting on other's work is also fun! I've been going with some simple strategies as well for self-promotion, but mine are more marketing. I put up a blog so I had a funnel to my articles. It also allows me to post stuff that's too small in word amount to post as articles. My next step is creating a weekly email newsletter highlighting my past articles and also upcoming topics. But I have a marketing degree so this kinda stuff is second nature to me. I do understand how overwhelming it may seem, there's just so much out there as far as ways to promote yourself, where do you start? This article certainly answers that question. :)
