Microsoft FrontPage: How to Create Black and Silver Pipe Buttons

In this Microsoft FrontPage tutorial I will show you how to create the black and silver pipe buttons in my image. Please see the image that I have provided to see the ending results of this tutorial. These buttons are silver with a black
dot on each end of the button. These buttons are fairly easy to create. We will create the first button and apply the effects to it. Then we will create the other buttons that you need by copying and pasting them. Open your Fireworks program and we will begin.

How to Create Black and Silver Pipe Buttons in Microsoft FrontPage

First, we will draw the button using the auto shapes. Open your auto shapes toolbar. If this is your first time using Auto Shapes, go to the top of your window and click Insert > Picture > Auto Shapes. The auto shapes toolbar will pop up on your page. Click the Flow Chart Icon in the toolbar. When the menu drops down click on Flow Chart Predefined Process icon. Then draw the button on your page. Draw the button the size that you want.

Next, we will apply the gradient to the button to give it that silver look. Click on your button to highlight it. Then click the arrow beside the paint bucket at the bottom of the window. Click Fill Effects when the menu pops up. Click the Gradient Tab when the Fill Effects box pops up. Tick the Two Colors field and click White for Color 1 and Gray 25% for Color 2. Leave the Transparency fields at 0%. Tick the Horizontal field for the Shading Style. In the Variants section, click the bottom right box. Click OK on the box to apply the gradient effect.

Next, we will apply the border to the button. Click the arrow beside the paint brush and click on the color black. Click the border style icon and select the ¾ pt border.

The next step is to add the circles to the button. Click the Basic Shapes icon in the auto shapes toolbar and select the circle. Hold the SHIFT key down and draw a circle at the end of your button. Click the paint bucket at the bottom of your window and change the color of the circle to black. Right click on the circle and click Copy. Then right click again click Paste. Slide the circle to the other end of the button.
