There are many options for families when it comes to planning a family vacation, but more expensive does not mean that everyone will have more fun. Going further from home does not mean more fun either. Do you remember when your kids were toddlers and you bought them the most expensive toys because you thought that they were better, only to stop for dinner one night at the local fast food place and your child becomes attached to the toy they got for free in their kids meal? You can use this example when thinking about planning a fun family vacation.

I am talking about taking the family camping. This is the best family vacation that my family has ever taken. We have been to Walt Disney World, Kings Island, Cedar Point, and many more places on vacation, but going camping is always everyone's favorite place to go. It is also the most inexpensive vacation we have taken.

Instead of going on a vacation that mainly focuses on the kids and the family as a whole, camping has many different activities for everyone. There are activities for the kids such as swimming, fishing, nature walks, bicycle riding, to mention just a few. While the kids are doing these things, which are usually offered with a park ranger as a chaperon, the adults can go along or they can stay at the campsite and relax. A balance between participating in a few activities with the kids and letting them go with the park ranger is the way that I suggest because while it is great to share some of your child's experiences while camping, they also need a little time to them self and where they can feel some independence.
