years. With ratings struggling, this seems like a move made in order to try something new, and now Casey Wilson in particular will be able to focus more on her film career. The official announcement has been somewhat under the radar, and it probably wasn't the news that Casey Wilson and Michaela Watkins wanted to hear about as they were preparing for the 2009-2010 season of Saturday Night Live. There are two women joining the cast while Wilson and Watkins exit, and they are comedians Jenny Slate and Nasim Pedrad. Slate is also a member of the Upright Citizens Brigade.

Casey Wilson had been on Saturday Night Live for 30 episodes, having her debut back in 2008 as a member of the cast. Wilson has also been a supporting character in a number of films that include The Brothers Solomon, Bride Wars (as Stacy), and Julie & Julia (as Regina). Wilson will also have a role in the upcoming film Killers that also stars Katherine Heigl and Ashton Kutcher. As a viewer of the show, it didn't seem like Wilson was ever given enough daylight to have the characters needed to survive on a show like this, and it isn't a surprise that she is going to find herself on the wrong side of the television screen next season.

Michaela Watkins was only on Saturday Night Live last season, and the 38-year-old comedian didn't end up with an overwhelming amount of screen time while she was a member of the cast. She appeared in a total of 15 episodes during her time on the show, and will now be forced to move on to a new plan. She has been on quite a few television shows as a supporting character, including The New Adventures of Old Christine (Lucy), and Californication. Watkins also has appeared as characters in singular episodes in a host of other shows. Again, this isn't a surprise, as the two new women joining SNL look similar to Watkins, making her expendable if the producers really like the new cast members.

Rating struggling? What are you talking about? SNL had its highest ratings in YEARS last season. Are you living under a rock?

All that comedic talent out there and Lorne Michaels ends up with this cast of clowns? Don't get me wrong, there's a couple good guys in there, but, overall, it's poor stuff poorly written...
