At a suburban Chicago elementary school, principal Leroy Coleman and teacher Janet Lofton were caught having sex on tape right inside the principal's office. The principal and teacher have now called it quits with each other and their jobs at the school.

The sex scandal broke out after several copies of the sex video were mailed anonymously to students' parents this week, just a few days before school board elections. No one is sure who planted the camera, recorded the sex acts, or mailed the tape out to parents.

After meeting with the superintendent of the district, Coleman and Lofton resigned from their jobs on Thursday. However, the reasons for their quitting were not linked to the sex scandal. Coleman stated that he was quitting for health reasons and Lofton said she was quitting due to the illness of a family member.

Kimberly Grivkis, the mother of a 13-year old and an 11-year old who attend the elementary school, said that she received a DVD in the mail of 2.5 hours of Coleman and Lofton engaging in sexual acts. Grivkis was able to identify Lofton and Coleman on the tape. She was outraged and immediately took the objective and called other parents of the school to a call for action from the school board about the scandal, saying that "It made me sick...It's very graphic. I can't tell you how graphic because I have two children standing right here."

Currently the Cook County Sheriff's Department is investigating, even though they do not know if any crime has been committed, but parents insist there has been.

Lofton and Coleman did not know about the tape. The school board attorney said that somebody had to have planted the camera and also somehow got access to the room. However, the sheriff's investigators searched the office of Thursday and found nothing; no camera, tv, or tapes.

The date on the tapes were from December of 2006 and January of 2007.

The breaking news in this case happened Friday April 13, 2007 when a 3rd employee, teacher aid Anjayla Reed, quit when she heard she was also on the tape hugging and touching Coleman.

  • Police unsure if crime has committed. Nor can they find the camera that caught the act.
  • Parents insist on pressing charges of some sort.

You know, with all of the recent scandals regarding teachers having sex with their students, at least these people were both consenting adults. Hats off to them for that!!

Why didn't the principal's cheap a... go to a hotel room in the first place. Doing it right there at school with subordinates was not a very smart move. The parents need to get a grip. This type of thing happens all the time and the children were not impacted during the act.

I am not sure I am understanding why these parents are upset. I can see being upset if the teachers were having sex in class while students were there but if someone taped the sex life of a couple teachers and sent it to parents then I think it is the teachers who should be offended

I'm kind of offended as a parent myself that other parents would react so harshly to this. It's business as usual in the world. Everyone is so touchy these days. Geeze. Quit worrying about other people's lives and start living your own. Hell, you might even get some good techniques from the tape.
