What is Sadomasochism?
Studying criminal behavior often comes with certain aspects of a variety of different personalities. In this first of many articles of different personality traits, I will walk you through and teach you the difference between them all. We will begin with Sadomasochism, many serial killers
such as Richard Ramirez, Fred and Rosemary West as well as Elizabeth Bathory practiced this so called sexual culture.
Let's first define the word sadomasochism. Sadism which is the sexual or social pleasure of the infliction of pain and suffering upon another person. Masochism is the complete opposite, this is when sexual pleasure or gratification is felt when pain or suffering is inflicted upon yourself, such as being beaten, humiliated or tortured. Basically sadomasochism is giving pain and receiving it as well for those who want the simplest term. It is greatly known as S & M.
Many people however mistake sadomasochism as evil, which in fact is far from what it really is. Sadomasochism has nothing to do with evil or witchcraft, when in fact it has everything to with sexual pleasure caused by the infliction of pain. Epinephrine is released when stressful or painful experiences occur which can cause a pleasurable rush of excitement leaving the person with the feeling of wanting more even though pain is involved.
Sadomasochism was once thought of as a sexual disease, a disease that made people want to dominate another person, and to be the dominate person as well. As of now, sadomasochism is one of the most popular fetishes on the internet, movies and sexual magazines. It involves pain indeed, but also involves the practice of role playing. It is so widely known that in countries such as Europe and America, festivals and retreats promote sadomasochist enthusiasts.
