Big Brother TV Show Cancelled

Fans Are Upset at Cancellation of Big Brother

The TV Show Big Brother has officially been cancelled.

MTV.UK reports that BIG BROTHER has been dropped by UK's Channel 4 after ratings for the series fell dramatically.

The show was garnering less than 2 million viewers an episode.

The main difference between the USA Big Brother and the UK Big Brother is that in the UK the viewing public decide who to vote out. This usually leads to the more controversial characters being booted early and many said that this obviously makes the show less exciting. The original first season broadcast of Big Brother in the USA was determined by audience vote, however subsequent seasons led to the format where the actual house guests choose who to vote out. For some reason the UK Big Brother has never adopted this format, and the result is an incredibly bland show.

The UK did try to boost ratings by doing Celebrity Big Brother with American house guests including Layoya Jackson and Coolio.

The head of Channel 4 Julian Bellamy said: "Big Brother has been our most influential and popular programme over the last decade. Big Brother will leave a huge hole and filling it will involve the most fundamental creative overhaul in our history."

In Australia TV channel Network 10 cancelled Big Brother after its seventh series. In the USA Big Brother is currently ending its eleventh season.

The first season of Big Brother USA was won by Eddie Mcgee by audience vote.
