I am going to clear up the confusion for any who may believe that Conservatives are evil, that we hate the poor, the minorities or anyone else for that matter. You are wrong! Am I being emphatic enough? Wrong! Wrong! Wrong! And I will no longer stand by and let pass the bile crossing the lips of these demagogues. They are liars, and if anyone is buying their tripe, I suggest you take stock of reality versus what you want reality to be!

Let's just look at the news of the day. Don Imus stuck his feet in his mouth. His butt is swinging in the wind, and the LA Times, one of the most liberal rags on the planet has announced that "Imus is a Conservative!" That's the biggest bunch of bull I've ever heard. Have you ever listened to Imus? He is a Liberal, through and through, yet here is one of the leading liberal news outlets denying any association with one of their own. Are they trying to distance themselves (The LA Times), or are they playing the party line - where they denounce Imus as a Conservative? All one need do to determine who is full of it, me or the LA Times, is look back over the history of Imus' remarks, and if you have even one ounce of decency and honesty in your soul, you would call the LA Times a bunch of demagogue liars!

Now, where is the evidence, or the logic that Conservatives hate minorities? Blacks? Immigrants? The poor? Is there any such evidence? There is no logic for these moral high grounders to make their assumptions; there are however many, many reasons for them to hold and espouse their filth. It's called politics; it's called influence; it's called 'making sure you have a firm political base in the future.' Dreadfully, it is not called what it is - a lie! A damnable lie, with absolutely no basis in fact, but if you say it enough times, the dis-interested, which includes most Americans, will eventually accept it as fact. After all, they've heard it said a million times, and there isn't anyone out here denying it, so the masses assume it must be true. Wrong again!

Takeaways
  • Conservatives are not evil, racist or exclusive.
  • Conservatism welcomes all comers to compete.
  • Conservatives are "Glass half-full" folks. Liberals are "Glass half-empty" folks.

Yes, I am "smarter than to believe [The Left's] political rhetoric." Fortunately, I'm also too smart to believe your political rhetoric. You have been found guilty of Preaching to the Choir: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/177853/how_to_convince_people_with_your_articles.html

Being liberal is not a disease. Conservative means holding to tradition and not liking change. I have no facts on this, but it would seem Conservatives did not want to eliminate Jim Crow laws. Liberals are about moving forward and making positive changes for the future. There is so much hatred and lies in this article, but I enjoyed reading it. United we stand and divided we fall. Speaking of elections, if Republicans are still considered to be conservatives, I wonder what all that throwing out votes and fixing the elections that got GWB elected was about. "We have to support the poor" Poor people work in menial, low paying jobs. There is not affordable healthcare or housing. Why can't we act like adults and stop with all the name calling? Jeeze.

Very nice -- and also very passionate, something Conservatives are also frequently not given credit for! I have no problem with classical Liberalism, but the flavor today -- !! Anyway, you should read Chaotic Ramblings and Mr. Patriot when they publish; you would like them quite a lot. I'm favoriting you right now.

This is pretty funny given the misinterpretations conservatives usually assign to liberals. I'd suggest perhaps both sides should take a time out, and listen to what each other has to say instead of assuming each knows what the other is saying.

Ok, let me give you some advice. Your article is hard to read because it's filled with some anger and name calling and "liars!" It really distracts from whatever point you'd like to make. I couldn't even read it through.

I agree with you that many people of conservative persuasion get a bad rap. I don't have anything against conservatism in theory (especially fiscal conservatism), though I have a big problem with SOCIAL conservatism. Frankly, I don't give a shit what some church demagogue thinks should go on in bedrooms, schools, or families. What I do is my business so long as I'm not infringing on someone else's rights. Unfortunately, the Republican Party has increasingly become a mouthpiece for the religious right instead of for the American mainstream. I cannot support a party that gives such credence to such wild social and political views.

Jeff, I must give credit where it is due, and I believe you have a valid point in that Liberalism is one of the prime engines of social change. To be fair though, I believe Conservatism is a reasonable counter-weight to Liberal thought. I would pose no argument to the concept, as I posted in another article, that the best for all is an amalgam of both extremes.

Sure, you all can take the victim route, thinking us crazy liberals are out to get you, and cry about the liberal media (even though it is mostly corporate owned and conservative) just don't forget that every good advance comes from liberalism. The founding fathers were liberals, so were those who were against slavery, the people who fought for women's rights, on and on..if we had always went the conservative route, we would still be a corporate colony that practiced slavery and didn't allow women to vote or the like..

(oops, my commet got lost in the ether)..with everyone but the one THEY thougt of. Liberal to me is a sad state of being... they just like to rant, scream, screech and not say anything worthwhile.. if I am incorrect, so be it.. I'll just take my Conservative self to my conservative corner and wait for the bloodbath of liberals to end.

Yea... It takes a great deal to admit to be a conservative and even more when it comes to defending the opinions we hold near and dear. Back in the day,(before Hollywood became part of the mainstream and became brave enough to speak without a script; Taking Heads on certain Television Stations used their 15 mins of fame to flap their lips without using their brains; the printed media took the road of yellow journalism instead of printing the true spoken words; and self-proclaimed "religious leaders" and self-appointed masters political and literary leanings rant and rave)... conservatives were not thought of as evil, or to be done in. Now, we might as well have a Scarlet Letter "C" on our chest as far as the Liberals think. I had rather be a Conservative than a Liberal. Liberals do not truly have a united front, liberals are out for themselves,(me, myself and I attitude). They don't seem to know how to work together, come up with a plan unless it means doing away with everyone but the
