Sitcom Sleazeballs We Love
Many sitcoms have a resident sleazeball. I have six sitcome sleazeballs listed here, and I'm sure there are more whom I don't even know about, because I haven't watched every sitcom, or perhaps a sleazeball is escaping my memory. But here are some very memorable sitcom sleazeballs.
Roy Biggs from "Wings." This guy was ugly. He was fat and had an unattractive face, and this disgusting moustache that covered his upper lip. He was an ogler all the way, always coming on to women in a most unflattering way. None of the characters liked Roy Biggs. He was always in a disgruntled mood. His airline company was the competitor of the airline company owned by the two lead characters.
Dan Fielding from "Night Court." Now this guy was a total womanizer, but at the same time, he was a complete sissy -- all 6-4 of him -- when it came to tough guys and even tough women.
Sam Malone from "Cheers." Sam really wasn't a sleazeball per se, but he was definitely a womanizer, and the difference between him and other sitcom womanizers or sleazeballs is that he always got the girl. Well, almost always.
Louie DiPalma from "Taxi." This guy is perhaps the worst sleazeball on this list, and the ugliest, too. He was thoroughly convincing as the head of a cab company. Ironically, he gets a girlfriend in the show at one point, and she comes across as a goodie-two-shoes (played by real-life wife Rhea Perlman, who went on to play the very nasty Carla on "Cheers")
Lenny and Squiggy from "Laverne and Shirley." Lenny and Squiggy ogled women constantly, but were totally lacking in the refinement of womanizing that Sam Malone possessed. Lenny and Squiggy were amateur womanizers.
Bob from "Becker." This short guy (but not as short as Louie DiPalma) was obnoxious and not the least bit handsome. He was a total loser all the way, but thought he was God's gift to women.
Arnie from "Roseanne." Yes, Arnie was definitely the loser womanizer type.
