Downtown Disney is located on the Disney property in Orlando. If you go, just look for the signs, and you will find it. It has lots of places to eat and fun shops to browse around in. My favorite restaurant is The Earl of Sandwich, which is a chain sandwich shop, but makes great meatball subs, which they call Cannonballs. Fun things to do include making your own Mr. Potato Head and walking through a world of Lego's. It is amazing what people have created with those tiny blocks. Little girls can also be made up to resemble Disney princesses (for a price). There is also an area where children can run through the fountains, so make sure to pack the swimsuits. Amazingly, parking is even free here.

Old Town in Kissimmee is only 10 minutes from Disney, and has so much to do that it is a local favorite. It is located on the main drag in Kissimmee, making it easy to find. Kids love the rides such as bumper cars and go carts, and parents love the fact that it is free to park and there are no admission fees.
Krispy Kreme is located on the same street as Old Town in Kissimmee, and offers an interesting look at how doughnuts are made any time the "HOT" light is on. Kids and adults alike love the sugary treats, and watching the process just adds to the fun. There is no charge for looking, but chances are you are going to want to buy one, or maybe a dozen!

Celebration is right down the road from Kissimmee, and offers a look at what America might have been, had we all the money and time that this well-groomed neighbor spends on maintaining a perfect appearance. Be sure to take a driving tour of the neighborhoods - the upper-end houses are unbelievable. It is free to park and walk around, and there are often festivals on Saturdays. There are many shops and restaurants, and sitting by the lake in a rocker is the definition of relaxation.
