'Star Trek: Voyager's' Jeri Ryan Joins the Crew on 'Leverage'

Spoiler Alert!

Leverage has just ended its second season, stunning audiences with a role change that was highly unexpected and not even hinted at in previous episodes.

Leverage is a hit television show on the TNT network. The premise takes us to a crew of "the best of the bad guys"; a hacker, a grifter, a thief, a fighter, and a mastermind, all coming together to form a single Robin Hood type group. They are a proponent of the underdog. When the rich and powerful take advantage of those who have little to nothing, the Leverage crew takes over and cons these bratty snobs and puts them in their place. A very tantalizing premise when, as regular people, we see the rich and snooty benefit from the ill will of others on a regular basis.

This show is also hilarious. The banter and antics between the characters is well written and well timed. Even as much of a TV Slug as I am, I can't say that I enjoy many shows the way I enjoy Leverage. It never ceases to make me chuckle.

In a previous episode, "The Two Live Crew Job" (which guest starred well known Star Trek actor Wil Wheaton), the character of Sophie, the grifter, (played by Gina Bellman) apparently had a moment that was life altering. Attending one's own funeral (even laying in the casket at the beginning of her own funeral) is enough to get anyone thinking. But without further alert that anything drastic was going to happen, Leverage viewers find out in last week's episode, "The Ice Man Job" that Sophie has taken off to London and wants some time to herself. She was seen half a dozen times in that episode as the crew couldn't seem to completely function without her.
