The headline on the Comcast home page reads: Democrats, Fox News Lock Horns. Never, in the history of humanity or television, and especially in the marriage of the two, has there ever been a Presidential hopeful turn down face time. Quick, duck . . . here comes them flyin' pigs!

In their never ending pursuit of public stupidity, ignorance and their constant urge to throw a tissy and take their toys and go home, the Lefties have set a new standard for integrity. In case you haven't heard, Democrat Presidential hopefuls are refusing to participate in a Fox News televised debate amongst, now get this, only other Democrats. None of those Evil Conservatives involved. So what gives now, ya bunch of numbskulls?

At this point let me say it is a shame for the Democrats that Conservatives have not previously chosen this clever political stratagem. If in the history of television and political debates Republicans had refused to venture into 'enemy territory' no one would have ever seen the face of a Republican politician!

First, to demonstrate that the Dems are playing politics the way 6 year olds gather their toys and leave when they don't get their way, let's put a stop to the "Fox News is nothing but the propaganda wing of the Bush Administration." In a recent poll it was determined that, of the people polled at Fox, 40% identified themselves as either Liberals or Democrats. Now, I do not pretend to know how many were polled, who was polled, and the positions (on air or not) of the poll's participants, but let's just, for the sake of argument, say these are accurate numbers. What does that lead us to conclude?

I don't know about you, but I'm left with the impression that a 40/60 split leans a little, and I mean not far from the margin of error for polls, to the right, but clearly not the propaganda wing of any administration. Compare that with a poll conducted just before the 2004 election that concluded that 89% of media members in general, across multiple media, considered themselves as Liberals. Hmmm?

I guess when one considers that Fox News is only 40% Libs, to the Lefties out there it must truly seem as if Fox is the Devil incarnate.

Takeaways
  • Democrats are the experts at partisan politics.
  • Fox News is the largest cable news outlet.
  • Democrats have an interesting, but fatally flawed strategy.

Jeff, I don't think you give enuff credit to Fox viewers. It is the largest of the cable news networks. That is not an accident. It is the manifestation of the free will of a pretty big number of peeps. I do not agree with CNN's point of view, but they are legitimate.

It's not that anyone "can't handle" faux news...it is just why help them (and the neo-con agenda) by treating the propaganda channel as legitimate?

Thanks for your input Nate. I tend to often try to keep it a little light-hearted in presentation. Sorry you do not like my tone, but I appreciate your constructive criticism.

I totally disagree. I've seen much nastier namecalling in articles written by liberals round here (Tim Sexton ring a bell?). I laughed out loud in parts.

I was interested in this subject, but you lost me at "stupidity" and "tissy". You equate Dems with 6 year olds, yet you can't seem to keep from throwing a childlike tantrum yourself in any of your writings. You have some good topic ideas; if you exercise some self-control, people would be more interested in reading your work.
