Microsoft's Paint software is one of the most under-rated programs used today. Although, you can't make the world's best graphics with this program, you can get simple tasks done very quickly compared to other programs. As I am no master of Adobe's Photoshop, I turned to Microsoft Paint to do simple tasks such as quickly rotating an image, shrinking or enlarging the total size, and even cropping the image.

Since this tutorial is going to be teaching you how to crop an image quick and effectively, you're going to need to have an image to crop. So, if you already have an image, go ahead and skip this part of the tutorial and go to the paragraph after the next one. For those of you having to create an image, we'll draw a simple smiley face. First of all, on the menu bar go to File and then select New. Next, go to the menu bar again and click Image and select Attributes or just hit the control key and the "e" key simultaneously. For this tutorial, make the width and height both 400 pixels by entering 400 in both of the text boxes as shown in image number one. Now, you're ready to begin drawing.
