If it's your first time to create direct email marketing, here are several tips for you to create the ideal mail the first time around.

Tip #1 People generally don't wish to receive marketing emails often.

If you have things to announce, make sure that you combine all of them in one email to increase the value of your email. That way, your customers will learn to understand that you will never send a marketing email unless necessary. There are various reasons for you to submit direct marketing emails: they can be to provide information for either existing or new customers. They can contain announcements about your latest product updates or promotions.

In the end, just remember that although combining several key details into one marketing letter is good, it's not advisable to do so if the details are not applicable to all types of consumers you have.

Tip #2 Use a different approach if necessary.

If you have several target markets then don't hesitate in using a different approach for each target market. Doing so won't cost you a cent anyway. A different approach will increase the chances of getting your marketing email read and appreciated because you've made the effort to speak the language that the particular reader in mind understands.

Tip #3 Take advantage of the designing features offered by email.

Unlike traditional direct mail marketing, business costs won't increase just because you spent two pages' worth of colorful information rather than your usual black-and-white brochure.

Use bold styling to emphasize important words in your email. These words should speak for itself like "50% discount" or "lifetime warranty". Use italic styling on the other hand for words that may not speak for its self but still require emphasizing anyway.

Did You Know?
Send your marketing emails once and only once per customer. Send it more than once and you run the risk of having your email labeled as SPAM.
