The day is young, but the

Heart feels old and heavy

Burdened by the pains of yesterday,

His actions leaving him cold and shivering

At the thought of what they might have caused.

Nothing has ever been so troublesome,

Never before has anything brought on such a

Feeling of despair;

Utter hopelessness.

All he desired was to be at peace;

Peace with his mind as well as with his acquaintances,

Yet something has caused a ripple to enlarge into a

Tidal wave of anger and hatred

Waiting patiently for the perfect moment to

Crash down upon the small village that is his world.

The surging waters only swell as

Tension rises with each passing word and the

Sanity tells him to retreat to the mainland,

To avoid the heartaches of impending doom, but

His heart screams to be heard, saying the

Worst is already over, that his efforts have not gone unnoticed.

So he waits...quietly and patiently on the shoreline of his future;

Will she be in it?
