An organisation named "Engrezi Bhasay Bangla Shikkha Karzakram" (Learning Bengali through English language) has urged the people to know other languages alongside the mother tongue on the occasion of the Valentine's Day.

The slogan of the organisation this year is "Shokolei Bhasa Bhalobase" (Every one loves language). Noted poet Samudra Gupta who is the advisor of the 'Bengali Language learning programme' composed the slogan.

Notably, February 14 is the Valentine's Day.

"Pay homage to your own language. Through respecting own language and knowing, loving other languages the Valentines Day might be observed," urged Ali Niyamat, the president of the organisation and also the founding editor of the 'Alumni News' of the English Department of Dhaka University Sunday.

Thank you for the reporting. Does this web site have the feature of typing in an English sentence and then getting the translation instantly in Phonetics for Bengali ? Maybe it is time to get the site equipped with that. We have 2 kids and we made sure that both could speak in Bengali as well as English.
