Where to See Halloween Movies in Chicago
Many movie theaters will be running horror movie festivals this October and Chicago has a lot of them. Try these Halloween movie fests on for size this season.
The Music Box Theatre's Music Box Massacre 5 has ten horror movies for you to delight in on October 10th. Advance tickets are $27 and $33 at the door to come and go as you please. This is a 24-hour movie marathon so I hope you bring a large bladder with you. This year has a special guest in Chicago's own Stuart Gordon, writer and director of Re-Animator.
Films in this festival include Stephen King's Carrie, The Brood, From Beyond, and of course, Re-Animator. Two black and white classics include The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Isle of the Dead. The Music Box Theatre is located on Southport Road just south of Irving Park Road, five blocks from Wrigley Field. Train and bus stops are within three blocks of the theatre.
The Midway Drive In hosts the Horror Dusk to Dawn show for $10 for adults. Some of the stars of the films will appear in the Flashback Weekend Horror Convention being held on October 23rd through the 25th. Movies start at 8 P.M. on Saturday, September 19th. See Near Dark, Pumpkinhead, The Phantom of the Opera (1989) and Trancers II.

View Halloween II, a remake of the classic series starring Malcom McDowell and Brad Dourif. Lastly we have The Final Destination, yet another movie about the weirdest ways people will die when death tries to catch up with you.
