You just graduated college and the games are now over. You are knee-deep in job hunting with no idea what you are saying or doing once you are offered that perfect job. Your research and studying does not stop after graduation. Being informed about the salary ranges in your field of expertise will help you after you are offered a job and salary negotiations begin.

Salary negotiations are a talent no one can be completely versed in, but being prepared with a few pointers will help you get the most you are worth.

* Be Persuasive

Sweet-talking your boss with figures will surely impress him. Knowing what you want and convincing you boss you are worth it can make all the difference. You just graduated college and the games are now over. You are knee-deep in job hunting with no idea what you are saying or doing once you are offered that perfect job. * Aim High and Be Realistic

Having an understanding of what others is making in your field with similar education and experience and aiming at the most you are worth will show confidence. However, beware if a salary range is $27,000 to $34,000, asking for $40,000 may make you appear young and foolish.

* Start Off With the Right Tone

By asking and not demanding a higher salary, you leave the power with the one who really has it. Being overzealous will not get you a raise or better salary. Being humble and sure of yourself may!

* Clarify Your Interests

Salary negotiations are not always about a higher per year income. Remember, your salary package may include medical, dental and retirement plan. Clarifying what you are looking to improve will erase any ambiguity.

* Anticipate Your Bosses Interests

Salary negotiations are not for the overzeealous.
