Country Life Versus City Life
The area you choose to live in may depend on several different factors such as where you work, need for and access to public transportation and where you want your children to go to school. Choosing a location to plant your roots can also depend largely on personal choice. Many people tend to be partial to the type of area they grew up in.
I love the country. It's serene and peaceful. I love the beauty of nature. I find it very relaxing. I love being out where there are no neighbors nearby and I can take in the beauty of wooded areas and natural surroundings. City life has a negative effect on me. I hate waking to the sound of traffic, car doors banging, music blaring and chattering voices. I find that it causes me stress and makes me tense. I can't stand the hectic rush-rush of city life. I feel as if I'm always holding my breath. In fact, I feel like I can't breathe, like I'm being suffocated. I feel like I'm always on a time limit and there's never any peace.
When was the last time you were actually able to go to the bathroom in peace? I'm not trying to be funny or rude. I'm serious. There are constant interruptions. It seems like every time I go to the bathroom the phone or door intervenes. The houses are usually so close together that your neighbors can tell you what time you flushed your toilet last. I really hate when the houses are so close you can reach out your window and almost touch your neighbor's house. The walls are so thin that if you want to have a private conversation you better leave home to do it. One day my son mentioned seeing a cockroach at the restaurant where he worked. The next day my landlord was at my door asking if I had roaches. The problem with nosy neighbors is that they gossip about information they didn't even hear correctly.
