It's officially fall. The pool is closed, the weather is changing and it's more and more tempting to become a couch potato and TiVo every show imaginable. Here are some fun, outdoor activities in Nashville to prevent those winter blues.
For the songwriters, musicians and music lovers, enjoy a weekend in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee (about 1 hour west of Nashville) for October Fest and the Songwriter's Festival at Loretta Lynn's Ranch, located at 44 Hurricane Mills Rd 37078. Both events take place on Oct. 2-4 on this beautiful estate.
October Fest includes live bands on Friday and Saturday night playing country and rock tunes, dozens of great contests such as: canned goods and pies contest, skillet toss, horseshoe toss, watermelon seed spitting contest and much more. October Fest is a mere $5 per day.
The Songwriter's Festival invites performing and non performing songwriters to come and enjoy some of today's best music writers, as well as, learn from the best in intimate classes.
