When planning the accommodations for the wedding, the hosts are also making potential plans for the guests of the wedding. Consideration should be given to whether the destination will be interesting and enjoyable for invited guests. There will probably be planned events for most of the weekend, but the guests may want to take off on their own for a while and explore the surroundings. That should also be considered in making plans.
After selecting the country, island, city or area that you want to hold the wedding in, it is time to find the venue for the wedding ceremony and wedding reception banquet hall. Hopefully, you will have an idea of how many people will be attending the wedding. Destination weddings are usually smaller, more intimate events that home town wedding, but not necessarily so. In any event,it is likely that not everyone that you invite will be able to attend.
Once you have selected a location, develop a list of possible resorts or hotels to plan to have the majority of your gatherings in. If you have been to the destination previously, you may already know which hotel you favor. You can research guide books, ask people you know or call travel agents for suggestions of good places to hold an event, such as your wedding.
