Have you ever wondered while standing in that long line at the grocery that there has to be a better way to save time shopping? Here are a few ideas that you can implement in your daily grocery shopping routine that could possibly save major time at the store.

How to Save Time Grocery Shopping #1 - Shop with a List

Always shop with a list in order to avoid the extra time spent in other sections of the store. It is also a good idea to briefly scan your list so that you can break up the list by sections and pick up items that are in close proximity in order to save time.

How To Save Time Grocery Shopping #2 - Try to Shop During Off Peak Hours

The best time to shop especially if your time is limited is during off-peak hours. Off-peak hours are usually between 10-4pm, after 10:00pm or early Sunday mornings. These hours are the best time to shop because you avoid the "before and after" work rush and massive long lines. Also, shopping during off-peak hours gives you first pick on newly stocked merchandise.

How to Save Time Grocery Shopping # 3 - Shop Outer Perimeters of the Store

Shopping the outer perimeters of the store first will save a lot of time because normally the outer perimeters are not as crowded. Therefore, if your list calls for eggs, cheese, meat or milk, picking up these items first before venturing to the middle aisles will save a tremendous amount of time.

#1 Shop with a list. That's a definite MUST! If I don't I always get side tracked and waste money. My favorite site I use to keep track of my grocery lists is www.lifejot.com. It's great; you can print, email, copy your lists, have as many as you want with categories and everything. Real time saver for me.

The best way to save time (AND MONEY) at the grocery store: Leave the kids at home (if you have backup). Seriously, those check-out line snacks can really add up!
