Going on vacation can be loads of fun for the entire family. Planning a vacation can be done in advance or sometimes spare of the moment, which can be more exciting. Usually when someone goes on vacation, it is for the fun of it. There is one trip that my family loves to take as much as possible. A trip to Kerr Lake, better known as Buggs Island Lake. Located in Clarksville, Virginia.
Buggs Island Lake has the rental properties surrounding it that can be rented before going to the lake. From mobile homes to log cabins. As big or as small as you would like.
The reason my family likes going to Buggs Island lake is the fishing and the peace and quiet. There have been some huge catfish reeled in from this lake. Buggs Island is well known in Virginia and North Carolina for the exceptional fishing it offers.
When I plan a trip to Buggs Island, I look foreword to spending time with my family in a quiet peaceful setting. Not having to worry about an alarm clock going off, or even getting up for work and getting the kids ready for school. It is a time I can relax and be myself. This is our favorite trip to take.
We rented a log cabin that sat right on the edge of the lake. A big deck on the back overlooks the lake. In the early morning as the sun rises, sitting on that deck is a wonderful experience. Having morning coffee and watching the boats take off for their morning fishing trips. The only thing was at night that cabin got cold. Therefore, it was time to break out the blankets in the summertime. If you can believe that.
Down at the dock my kids had a wonderful time playing in the water and laying around in the sun. At night, my husband and son would go fishing. They have caught some large catfish from this lake. My youngest son caught his first catfish here. His eyes got so big I will never forget it.
What I enjoy most about being away from home is spending quality time with the kids. It gives a chance to talk and spend time that you do not get to do in everyday normal activities of being at home.
