Is There a Misty Connection?

The latest flip in the flip-flopping police statements concerning the search of a lake in the Mondex area of Palatka, Florida indicates that police are in fact searching for evidence relating to the Haleigh Cummings investigation. Five year old Haleigh Cummings disappeared from her father's Satsuma home in the early morning hours February 10 and has not been seen since. Earlier Saturday, contradictory police information surfaced, some saying that the lake search was related to the Haleigh Cummings investigation and some stating that it was a search for property missing from a house and unrelated to the Haleigh Cummings investigation.

WESH provided the most recent police statement this morning by Putnam County Sheriff's Office Johnny Greenwood. Greenwood said that there is possible physical evidence relating to Haleigh Cummings' disappearance in the lake. He also said that the information underyling the decision to drain and search the lake did not come from Thursday night's police interview with Hank Croslin, Jr. CFNews broadcast a similar police statement from Sheriff Jeff Hardy confirming that the Mondex search is indeed related to the missing child.

Police characterized this search as one of many that need to be done in the Haleigh Cummings case. Hardy told CFNews that no further information about the search will be made public until the search is completed.

Mondex Search Connected to Misty?

The Palatka Daily News described the area being searched as a notorious party location.

A commenter identifying herself as Cee Cee on Art Harris' the Bald Truth blog, which has been following the Haleigh Cummings case, posted that she had seen Misty and Greg in the area now being searched. Misty and Greg Page, 28, reportedly partied and had sex during the weekend before Haleigh's disappearance.
