Alternative Medicines and Therapies
Are They Effective?
Alternative medicines and therapies have recently been gaining recognition in some of the more traditional communities as a viable and effective alternative to more broadly accepted (though often far too inadequate) means.Although alternative methods are by no means new, even in this day and age, some are still skeptical as to whether they actually do work. I can just as easily say that they do work.
As a child, growing up in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, alternative therapies and natural medicines were the usual method for treating most health issues in our home. To our household, alternative healing was then, and is still a quite adequate and normal part of daily life.
Teas, herbal supplements, liniment, vitamins, naturally healing foods, spiritual teachings, reflexology, and massage therapies were some common means that our mother used to effectively prevent, and to treat, or even on to cure, what ailments that could come up with a family.
Echinacea for colds, peppermint tea for a stomach ache, Catnip tea for a fever, reflexology (massaging specific corresponding areas on the feet) for headaches and such, a tablespoon of iron and potassium rich molasses in a glass of milk for fatigue (sorry, none of us would take the goat's milk she'd picked up from a not-too-far-away farm...YEAH for soymilk today!), and so on. She continued to have the courage to be so advanced for her age and for the times.
These things set the base for a lifelong love of alternative healing, with which we've expanded and grown into aromatherapy, yoga, reiki, shamanic healing, psychic mediumship, and more.
As validated with countless individuals over countless years, I am confident that alternative medicines and/or therapies...
* require less expense overall
* are less invasive, yet more direct
* reduce stress
* aid digestive issues,
* relieve tensions, headaches, aches and pains
* clear depression, trauma, and other spiritual issues
* accelerate any healing already occurring
* produce effective results
