Lily Allen Cancels the Rest of Her U.S. Tour

Pop Star Lily Allen has canceled most of the remaining shows on her United States tour, saying that she is tired and not performing at her best.

The British singer posted on her myspace.com blog and joked that "my mummy and daddy are very rich, and I have never been in a position where I have actually had to do any hard work before. I thought that being a pop star meant going out getting trashed with famous people and sleeping in all day."

Allen, known for being a "wild child," also denied that she was pregnant or checking into rehab. The 21 year old also said that she would stay in the U.S. to promote her debut album "Alright, Still" and to start writing her next album.

"I am tired, but more than that I don't think I have been giving my best performances recently," she said. "I have been getting really drunk because I've been so nervous about doing bad shows, and I don't want people spending money on going to see a show that isn't the best it could be. I am not falling apart at the seams, I am not suffering with exhaustion, I am not pregnant, and I am not going to rehab."

Her major concerts in New York and Los Angeles, as well as music festivals, will go on as previously scheduled.

Allen has also mentioned in previous blog posts that she has found it hard to successfully break into the U.S. market. Many British stars have failed to crack the U.S. market in recent years.

"Is it really important to break America?" she wrote. "If it is, I have to write my life off for the next nine months."

Allen's announcement followed Lady Sovereign, another 21 year old British performer, announcing just days ago the cancellation of her tour dates this month in Scotland and England. She said the cancellations are due to illness.
