Norman, Oklahoma -- Over the course of the past week, central Oklahoma has been blanketed by a brooding gray overcast and an almost constant sprinkle of rain that has not
only damped the streets -- but also the moods of Oklahomans here in Norman and other effected areas.
Yesterday and today, after a final break in the clouds with the sun peeking out to give some warmth and light to the otherwise gloomy environment, a wave of severe weather is on it's way again as a cold front begins it's flight to collide with the current warm temperatures being enjoyed in Norman and the greater Oklahoma City area.
Although today many people across central Oklahoma--including myself are enjoying the pleasant weather, we can see the clouds brewing and vamping up for what should be some slightly more severe storms with the potential for hail, high winds, and possibly even some isolated tornadoes.
Many parts of Oklahoma have already seen several inches of rainfall this week that have resulted in high water and localized flooding that has caused some unsettling road conditions, but with another wave of storms on it's way, Norman residents and other Oklahomans can expect to have another wet and cloudy work week ahead.
Here in Norman the rain has not been as bad as other portions of the state further north and south, but according to professional forecasts, Norman will be on the forefront of the coming storms tonight and tomorrow. Oklahomans are no strangers to unpredictable weather and the current storms working their way across the United States have definitely made an impact here in Oklahoma, but fortunately no schools are scheduled to be closed because of the rainfall.
