Well-known Writer Lives in Glen Burnie, Maryland

How many people can say they have a famous person living next to them? Probably only those who have been blessed with great fortune. Well, there is a well-known writer that lives in a regular working-class neighborhood, right in Glen Burnie, Maryland! Her name? Audra Russell! That's right, it's me! Never heard of me before? OK, well I am an aspiring author, I haven't exactly been published yet. "But you said this person is well-known!" Well, depending on who you know, I am well-known. I have a great deal of friends and family members all across the U.S. that know me well! Misleading? Maybe, but it made you look!

Now that I have your attention, let me introduce myself. I am Audra and I am an aspiring author. For as long as I can remember, I have always expressed myself through the written word. Words have always had such power. They hold within them the ability to encourage and the ability to destroy. They have always been to me a magical force that can change the life of the person who sets their eyes upon them. This has always fascinated me. I earned two degrees in Journalism, but never used them in a career. I don't know why. Perhaps because I was scared to let the world critique me. I wasn't brave enough to find out if I was good enough.

I am now almost 37 years old and finally have enough courage to let the world know that I am here! For any publishers reading this, I have several books that I am working on. What makes me different from the millions of others trying to get published? Hmmmmm, I'll let my work answer that for me.

So here I am, right in Glen Burnie, Maryland! An author just waiting to be discovered. I am not letting the rejection letters stop me. I am not letting the negative people in my life stop me. I am not letting the piles and piles of unsolicited manuscripts and query letters on the desks of those publishers (you know who you are) stop me. I am taking charge of my life and going after the one dream that has eluded me, haunted me, nagged me and pressed me on every side. I am a writer! Hear me roar!
