Day breaksan ordinary life stirs
throwing back the blanket
sleepily inch along
muffled footsteps in fuzzy slippers
to fill the coffeepot
Ordinary day.....that has become
the day the angels took
you home
I hold the cup
you poured
still filled with
french vanilla ...cold
The blanket lies
forlorn....in a heap
like me..waiting
for your hands to pull us safely
back to an ordinary day
where bullets and angels
don't belong
