Upcoming Children's Movies for 2010
2010 is just around the corner and in my opinion it's never too soon to start looking for some good movies. If you like to go to the movies, but have kids then it's a good idea to find something that they are going to be able to watch. Here is a list of up coming children's movies that you might want to look into.
January 2010
Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil: In this sequel to the 2005 movie Hoodwinked! the gang is back in action as they must find poor Hansel and Gretel. Hayden Panettiere (Heroes) will step in as the voice of Red and replace Anne Hathaway. You can look for this movie in theaters January 15.
Tooth Fairy: Dwayne Johnson steps back onto the big screen to take on the role of a minor league hockey player who must atone for his bad deeds by becoming the tooth fairy. This PG movie will probably have the flavor of some of his lighter movies like The Game Plan, but will still be enjoyable for audiences of various ages (even parents). Look for this one hitting the big screen on January 22.
The Spy Next Door: Who doesn't love a good Jackie Chan movie? Well The Spy Next Door looks to be a fun family/ kid movie starring not only Chan, but Lucas Till (Hannah Montana movie), Amber Valletta (Hitch), Billy Ray Cyrus, and George Lopez. Chan's character must protect the kids he is babysitting, when one accidentally downloads some sort of secret code. This movie will be out January 29.
March 2010
Alice in Wonderland: This Tim Burton movie probably isn't going to be super kiddy friendly (because it's Tim Burton we're talking about), but older kids as well as parents will probably like it. Honestly it looks like it will be a good movie with an all-star cast consisting of Johnny Depp and Anne Hathaway. This movie is out on March 5.
How to Train Your Dragon: There isn't much information out yet about this Dreamworks Animated film, however it is know that Jay Baruchel, Gerard Butler, America Ferrera, and Craig Ferguson will all by lending their voices to this project. This adventure movie will be set amidst the characters of Vikings and dragons so if you and your kids are in to that stuff then you should be good to go. How to Train Your Dragon will be out March 26.
