Animals, Mardi Gras and Other Non-Scary Masks
Halloween and trick-or-treat is all about dressing up in costumes, right? So how about free printable Halloween masks for kids to color, cut and paste? Perfect for preschool, special education and school Halloween parties.Some families do not participate in Halloween and trick-or-treating. If you are a teacher with students in your class who are not allowed to participate in Halloween parties, I have included some links for non Halloween masks. Your students may be able to participate in the Halloween festivities as long as they don't involve the spooky aspects, like ghosts, witches and ghouls. Parents may be willing to allow students to participate in a modified Halloween party if they were assured that the crafts were not based on scary things. I have included links for all different kinds of free printable Halloween masks to give you lots of options.
Art and crafts teachers may find these free printables useful as well. And be sure to visit these sites for free printable masks if you are a special needs teachers. Free printable masks make an excellent craft and lesson for play therapy and art therapy. Children get good practice in coloring and design. Cutting and scissors skills crafts give students practice in fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination. Preschool teachers, be sure to print off these masks and laminate them for children to use in your dramatic play or dress up center.

Thanks, Mar, for the research. We have five-year-old neighbor who's extremely ADHD. He simply cannot stay out of our garden and creek. Fortunately, except for rainy days resulting floods, the creek's normal depth is about 6". I will introduce him to mask-making at the picnic table OUTDOORS!! His attention span is zilch, so I'll have to do most of the work ahead of time. But I believe it will be worth it to have him content for a few moments.

Sounds like fun. I'm directing a play in the spring, The Three Musketeers and we are going to have a masquerade in it..I think we can use some of the Mardi Gras ones as bases for making decorated ones.
I checked out a few of these sites. What fun masks! My grandsons will love coloring and decorating them. Thanks.
