Carlos Nataren, a college employee, threatened the school, which is now amounting into heightened security measures, as well as full cooperation with Suffolk County Police. After Virginia Tech, no college is taking any chances with such a threat. In taking these precautions, Suffolk County Community College, as well as other colleges taking the same steps against such threatening people, are possibly saving the lives of their faculty, administration, and of course, their students.
Once Carlos Nataren exclaimed his threat, Suffolk County Police Officers were called in to take the man off the campus, and suspended Carlos Nataren from stepping foot onto the campus again.
Mr. Nataren, once arrested and investigated by Suffolk County police, was charged with second degree harassment and fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Suffolk County Community College has also posted helpful information on their website, https://access.sunysuffolk.edu/Students/index.asp, and even give a picture of the man in case any students see him. If anyone is to see Carlos Nataren, they are to call campus security and Suffolk County Police without any hesitation, as he is an obvious threat to the well-being of Suffolk County Community College's faculty, administration, and students.
