Apparently there is a new dustup involving B. Bernice Young Elementary School children singing a song to President Obama. The school is located in Burlington Township, NJ. The video was posted to
YouTube just two days before President Obama's speech to students. This could have been a lead-in to the speech by the school. But Fox News, Michelle Malkin and all the other right wingers will try to make this a socialist-type activity -- "All Hail the Chief," although President Obama and the White House aren't linked to this video.
Personally, I think parents' fears about their kids being politically indoctrinated are usually overblown, but to be fair, I'm open to persuasion by compelling evidence. If someone at the school pushed this and the principal okayed it without the consent of the parents, then that was wrong.
Apparently Charisse Carney-Nunes is the person behind this hot mess. She is the senior vice president of The Jamestown Project, an award-winning author of the children's books, I Am Barack Obama (2009)," and "a graduate of Harvard Law School, where she was a schoolmate of President Obama." What I find utterly ridiculous is Michelle Malkin trying to tie this back to President Obama, when there is no proof that he was remotely aware of what this woman is accused of doing. According to Malkin, Ms. Carney-Nunes has spread this creepy cult message to schoolchildren across the country. Really Michelle Malkin? How is President Obama responsible for this?
