My husband and I just returned from an 8-day Caribbean cruise on the Queen Mary 2. We chose the Queen Mary after experiencing her on a smaller, Independence Day cruise in 2006. The ship is very large but has an understated elegance. Considering her size, and with so many activities on board, we wanted to take a longer cruise to experience more of her

Many people consider the Cunard line's Queen Mary 2 as a "high class" ship, and may not think they can afford to cruise on her. In fact, cruising in general is getting more affordable as competition is keen, and Queen Mary 2 is no different than other ships in offering discounts and special deals. As past passengers of Cunard line, we received a special offer for our cruise that amounted to almost a 50% discount on the list price. There are a wide range of cabin types, from inside cabins on lower decks to deluxe outside cabins with verandas, and suites.

Queen Mary 2 is the second largest ship afloat and the largest ocean liner. She offers regular transatlantic crossings between New York and Southampton, England, as well as other cruises to Canada, New England, the Caribbean, Mediterranean, Panama Canal, and various world cruise ports. For those in the U.S., Queen Mary 2 also offers short sampler cruisers for Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.

Queen Mary 2 stands apart from other cruise ships with her understated elegance and tradition. She boasts the largest ballroom afloat, a planetarium, and wide, beautiful corridors on the main decks. When you walk the main corridors on 2 and 3 deck, you feel as if you are walking through a grand hotel.
