When i decided to do the NutriSystem Program, I was a little concerned because I never read anything specific about the food in the program. All I read were testimonials saying "The food is realy great" and such. NutriSystem allows dieters to customize their plan, if they don't want to take the risk of trying everything that NutriSystem offers. I would have loved to have read some reviews on the specific foods available through NutriSystem, which is why I decided to review the different foods in the program.I do not usually like bran. I don't like Bran Flakes. I can totally do without bran muffins. When I had the option of ordering the NutriFlakes as a breakfast, I passed on them and ordered a double of something else. Since new members receive a free week of food (7 breakfasts, 7 lunches, 7 dinners and 7 desserts), the NutriFlakes were sent at no charge. I wasn't too thrilled, but I tossed them in a drawer with the other breakfast portions.
I am not really a breakfast person. Breakfast for me is usually a cup of coffee. I make up for not eating at lunch. (Hence why I am on NutriSystem, I imagine.) So, since I'm really not too choosy, I just reached into the drawer and pulled out my NutriSystem breakfasst entree. It was the NutriFlakes, my first nutriSystem meal. Obviously, I wasn't too thrilled. However, I told myself that I would eat whatever I grabbed, so I stuck with it.
In all honesty, I'm glad I did. The NutriFlakes aren't your average bran cereal. First of all, they are just 40% bran, so it's not the grainy taste that you usually get with bran. Secondly, they are sweet. They aren't too sweet. They are, well, tasty. Since I have to have a fruit serving and a dairy serving, I sliced some strawberries and added them to my cereal, which was actually quite good. I'm sure that adding any other berries would make the cereal even better as well. But, NutriFlakes are fine even if you don't add anything extra.
