Night Watchman Scott Takes His Pal Rexy for a Long Walk

The Popular T-REX from "Night at the Museum" Travels from New York to Los Angeles

One of the most popular characters in "Night At The Museum" is Rexy, the gigantic T-Rex skeleton that chases bones like a frisky puppy. To promote the upcoming DVD release of the film, Rexy and his new friend, Night Watchman Scott (Scott Topper), are travelling from coast to coast and,

after receiving the key to the city of St. Louis, Scott has some time to talk.

"Pretty much, we're going to hit Kansas City, Denver, Las Vegas, San Francisco and end up back by the new home of Rexy, which is in Los Angeles at the museum. Rexy will end up there at the museum in Los Angeles," Topper said.

Originally, Gus, who was played by Mickey Rooney in the movie, asked Topper if he would be the night watchman on tour.

"Back in New York City, he (Rooney) handed me the bone for Rexy and then what I do is throw the bone from city to city. Basically, we play fetch and go from city to city, making our way back to LA for 'T-Rex Trek 2007,'" he said.

The tour has been going so fast that Topper didn't get a chance to see much of St. Louis.

"Literally, we saw the Arch and that's about it for me," he said, laughing. "As you can see from the huge bus, we live on the bus."

While on tour, Topper has noticed that Rexy is starting to grow.

"He keeps getting bigger, city to city. I don't know if I'm feeding him the right things, giving him the right nutrients, but for some reason, he seems to be growing, so I have to talk to a palentologist. He's one ton now, so he'll probably be two tons when we get there (California).

"Night At The Museum" will be available on DVD beginning Tuesday, April 24.
