When the Texas Roadhouse came to Western New York, local residents were ready to pull out their two-gallon hats and try some of the restaurant's award-winning barbeque. Finding good barbeque around Buffalo, New York can be a challenge in the land of Buffalo Wings. Texas Roadhouse was the answer. The restaurant is so popular on the weekends, that long waits are almost certain for guests who try to walk in at prime dinner hours. Texas Roadhouse will allow diners to call ahead, however, and put their name on the wait list to save bench time when they arrive for dinner.

Texas Roadhouse Atmosphere

Everything about the Texas Roadhouse is Texas-sized. The lobby area has two entire sections of wooden benches for a waiting area. A large wooden barrel sits at the entrance, filled to the brim with peanuts in the shell. Proper etiquette at Texas Roadhouse is carefree, and guests may snack on the free peanuts while waiting and then relish the thrill of tossing the shells on the floor.

A large glass case features the best cuts of steak, near the front of the restaurant. Guests may hand select their own filet, strip steak, or other prime choices of beef. The prices are indicated on a sign above the showcase. Texas Roadhouse prides itself in their quality, hand cut selections of beef. Fresh bread is made constantly at Texas Roadhouse, and there were bakers near the front of the restaurant assigned to making, baking, and placing hot, fresh bread with a special cinnamon butter in baskets for the servers to disperse to diners.

Seating at Texas Roadhouse is plentiful, though the restaurant seems to be filled during the dinner hours. Large wooden tables are designed as booths for seating, with some extra large tables available to seat six people. The tables all have little metal buckets filled with peanuts for guests to snack on.

I lo-o-ove Texas Roadhouse, especially the Rattlesnake Bites (better known as jalapeno poppers).

I haven't been to Texas Roadhouse in a long time. I think the menu must have changed as I remember it being quite a pricey place. I think I'll give it another try.

You forgot the cinnamon butter. Texas Roadhouse is my favorite resteraunt by far. Awesome food and low prices. Our Roadhouse has kids night on Monday and all kids eat for free of the kids menu.

I wouldn't call it a barbeque place. Don't think they have barbeque. The have ribs but I think that's it. It's a pretty good chain restaurant, but being in Texas, it's weird to go to one-Because it is based in Iowa, not Texas.

Believe it or not, they have a Texas Roadhouse in my dad's hometown of Bismarck, ND. I've been there; it's delicious!

As I'm near Louisville, KY, where BBQ places are abundant, there are a lot of better choices than Texas Roadhouse for ribs... but, they do have great chicken strips, steaks, pricing, and atmosphere.
