Having Someone Over for Tea Can Be a Nice Visit
Presentation of a simple afternoon with a guest that involves drinking tea can be spiced up with a few things.1. Put The Water On When The Guest Arrives
When your guest arrives you can put the kettle on and that way you'll be able to hear it whistle while you sit down to talk. This may seem silly but it will give an authentic feeling to your afternoon tea.
2. Offer Multiple Teas
By offering more than one kind of tea, such as the traditional black tea, you will make the tea visit a little bit more fun because your guest can choose the tea that they want to have.
3. Use Saucers
If you have saucers, you could also you small plates if you are using pretty big mugs, by using them you will offer a place where your guest can rest their used teabag.
4. Offer Finger Foods
Cut up some fruit or vegetables to nibble on while you talk with your guest and drink tea. You could also put out some cookies and/or crackers if you like.
5. Offer Sweeteners
Some people like add a sweetener to their tea, offer a variety of different sweeteners that your guest can add to their tea. Honey, milk, cream and sugar are all good in tea.
6. Serve Pretty Dishes
If you use dishes that have a pretty print or a pretty solid color the overall look of your presentation will appear to be more fun.
7. Match
If you have plates and cups that match you can make an even more fun presentation.
8. Use Napkins
Offer napkins, cloth would be ideal but paper will do the trick, you can fold them and place a spoon on top of them to hold them in place.
9. Use Place Mats
If you have place mats this can be the perfect time to pull them out, they will be a great addition to your presentation.
10. Offer Iced Tea
There is no rule that hot tea is the kind of tea that has to be served for afternoon tea. If iced tea is what your guest or you would rather be drinking then have it as an option.
11. Serve Hot Tea In Pretty Tea Kettle
For the hot tea that you offer, if you offer any, place it in a pretty tea kettle if you have one.
12.Serve in Iced Tea In Pretty Pitcher
For the iced tea that you offer, if you offer any, place it in a pretty pitcher.
The key is that you will be able to have a nice afternoon with you guest.
