Pink Toed Tarantula a Big Creepy Arachnid

2
A pink-toed tarantula is a big, creepy, daunting creature for those like me with arachnophobia. I am not sure why, but pink-toed tarantulas have gained popularity seemingly overnight. It seems that many people like keeping the pink toed tarantula as pets.

According to A Pakistan News, "they cannot, unlike many other species of tarantula, shoot their hairs into things, although the hairs on their abdomen can cause irritation and an allergic reaction if you happen to be allergic to them."

There is no way on God's green earth I would ever let anyone in my household keep a pink toed tarantula. I don't care how calm and loving experts claim they are. The fact is they have eight legs and look creepy. They are fear-inducing bugs that are better served in their natural habitat. For those of you who don't know, their natural habitat is "Guyana, French Guiana, Suriname, Venezuela, Brazil, Trinidad, Martinique, and throughout the Amazon Basin," according to Puggal.com.

To me, I'd rather the pink-toed tarantulas stay in the Amazon Basin and various zoos and places where scientists study insects. I don't want one in my house.

I am sorry if I have offended spider lovers, but that's just the way the cookie crumbles. If you want your very own pink toed tarantula, head on down to your local pet store and see if you can find one. If you need to care for a pink-toed tarantula, repticzone.com has a wonderful care sheet for pink-toed tarantula owners.

Pink-toed tarantulas eat store bought crickets, but make sure you don't feed your pink toed tarantula anything bigger than its body. Veggies and fish flake food are also food sources cited by the site to be appropriate for a pink-toed tarantulas diet.

Pink toed tarantula owners should be careful and know that the spider can move very quickly. You don't want to let the little guy get away - especially if someone in your household has arachnophobia. You should make sure to mist your spider with a water bottle, and clean up excrements as needed.
